【STATEMENT】
My work consists of non-reproducible installation pieces using masking tape and protective materials, based on the keywords 'temporary' and 'improvised'. I am interested in structures that combine light and shadow, two- and three-dimensional forms, the city, and physicality.My creative process begins with questions that arise in my daily life, and I use various media to explore them, including drawing, photography, video, and performance. Since 2022, my focus has expanded to include the processes of everyday change, such as fermentation.
After graduating from university, I worked for approximately 10 years before moving to New York for a year. Upon returning to Japan, I resumed my artistic practice and went on to expand my methods of expression in graduate school.
